vibhooti baLidare kailaasa baradu
iTTa gandha boodhi naama
chaTTa kaTTalu nirnaama kuladalli

If you put the tilaka (vertically) on forehead, you won’t reach heaven
[implies Vishnu bhaktas]
If you apply vibhooti (horizontally) on forehead, you can’t reach Kailasa
[ implies Shiva followers]
The sandal powder and vibhooti which you apply, are all destroyed once you die
